Christmas Lights
Thank you to Bill and Joy Salter of Southbourne Close, Porton who have once again decorated their house and garden with a spectacular display of Christmas lights. Each night the lights are on from 6pm until 9pm for everyone to enjoy.
Do go along to see this fantastic festive sight. Any donations given will be raising money for Salisbury Hospice.
Wildlife Calendar
Keen photographer Nicky Fower was so pleased with her holiday snaps she decided to use them to raise money for the hospice. She had a wonderful calendar produced which was sold locally and raised £1,265.00 for the hospice.

Marks & Spencer Fundraising
Jackie Best recently presented a cheque for £2,725.59 which was raised at the Salisbury branch in memory of Marion Rouse.

'Memories of my childhood'
Patricia Heath has written a book 'Memories of my childhood in Urchfont village'. Proceeds from sales of the book have raised a magnificent £500 for the Peter Gillam Day Centre.

Vintage Charity Road Race and Funday
Suzanne Smith and her family presented a cheque to Celia Scott of Salisbury Hospicecare Trust. £1,972 was raised at the Vintage Road Race and Funday held at the Udder Farm Shop, East Stour. The event was in memory of Barry Smith. Those who attended arealready looking forward to next year!
Annual Golf Tournament
Once again Andy Thomas and his family did a magnificent job organising their annual golf tournament. A magnificent £2,000 was raised. Andy is seen here presenting a cheque to Zac Saykouk from the charity.
Quiz raises £500
Lesley Parsons and Anne Briggs presented a cheque for £500 raised by holding a quiz and raffle in memory of Sandra Baker.

Salisbury Motorcycle & Light Car Club
Members of the Salisbury Motorcycle & Light Car Club chose Salisbury Hospice as their charity of the year 2010. A cheque for £1500 was presented at their March club meeting to Celia Scott who was representing the hospice.
Waitrose Post Office staff raise funds
Lynn Watts and Tracey Foster presented the hospice with a iPod Docking/Radio system and heat pads for the use of the patients. In addition staff at the Waitrose store raised £200 in lieu of sending each other Christmas cards.
City Centre Santa Dash
Dr Shaun McGee, Chairman of Salisbury Hospicecare Trust, who started the Dash, joined the Santas for the post Dash refreshments at Starbucks.
City Centre Santa Dash
In relatively balmy weather Santas dashed through Salisbury City Centre on Sunday 12 December, raising funds for Salisbury Hospice. Afterwards they enjoyed complimentary refreshments at Starbucks Coffee Shop in Minster Street.
History of Salisbury Palliative Care
A new project has been started which will chart the History of Salisbury Hospice and Specialist Palliative Care Services. A launch meeting was held on Friday 10 December at which many 'old faces' returned to give their contributions - seen here left to right - Caroline Waldman, formerly Senior Nurse at the Hospice, Lyn Mercer, formerly Volunteer Co-ordinator, Anne Cutler, who is co-ordinating the project, and Gill Harmer, currently medical secretary at the Hospice.

Christmas Tree Festival
The Hospice Shop in Catherine Street created this Christmas Tree - Rags to Riches - as part of the Christmas Tree Festival held in St Thomas' Church.

The Salisbury Hospice Christmas Tree in the High Street - many thanks to Ian Newman and City Centre Management for providing the tree, Andy Thomas and Nick Hoskins who decorated it, with the help of Signs in Motion who provided the hoist.

A crowd of 300 people attended the switching on ceremony of the dedicated lights on the Salisbury Hospice Christmas Tree in the High Street in Salisbury on Sunday 5 December.

Great South Run

Salisbury 'Posties' Trolley Push.
Andy Bundy led a team of 19 'posties' on a Postal Trolley Push from Berwick St John to Salisbury Hospice in July. A magnificent total of £6,198 was raised from sponsorship. The cheque was presented at a ceremony at Salisbury Sorting Office on Tuesday 19October to John Lakeman, Fundraising Co-ordinator for Salisbury Hospice, with some members of the team present. Thank you to everyone who helped achieve this fantastic result.
Trans Pennine Way Walk

SPONSORED CYCLE RIDE
James Clarke recently cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise funds for the Hospice. He completed the gruelling ride of 1,041 miles alone and unsupported and within his target of 9 days. He raised the magnificent sum of £850.00 for the Hospice.

Waterside Walk
Someone has to do the washing up for the 175 walkers that took part. Thank you to the volunteers who helped on the day, including Jack Sykes, John Greenstreet, Tony Grumett and Stuart Gilchrist and Stella Sykes for organising the Walk for the eleventh consecutive year.

Garage Sale result

This was the proceeds from a Garage Sale which the family held in support of Salisbury Hospice. A close member of the family is currently being cared for by the Community Palliative Care nurses in her home.

Rounders' Round-up
Russell Parsons and his family organised a Rounders Tournament at Laverstock and Ford Social Club on Sunday 1 August. Ten teams from local businesses took part - the winning team was One Hit Wonders Captain Adam Marriot. The tournament raised £550.00 - thank you to everyone who took part.
Trans Pennine Way
Steve Swanborough completed the 265 mile walk on Thursday 8 July at 6.15pm after 12 days effort. Thank you Steve.
Sponsored Post Barrow Push
On Sunday 4th July 17 Posties pushed a mail barrow from Barford St. Martin to the Hospice to raise funds for Salisbury Hospicecare Trust. Supporters were at the Hospice to welcome them and Derrick Alford, a founding supporter of the Hospice thanked themwith a short speech.
Golf Tournament Presentation

Volunteer retirement
After 24 years as a volunteer, one of the longest serving members - Margaret Faulconbridge - retired on 21 June. She received a bouquet of flowers and various other gifts, presented by Jane Daniel (left), with Nikki Campbell-Jones and Dorothy Harker (righ). Thank you Margaret for all your years of service.
Charity Cricket Series Summer 2010
The Wyndham Lightnings, based at The Hopback on Estcourt Road Salisbury, have challeneged other local teams to a cricket match during the Summer. The first was held on 13 June when they took on the Winny Gate - beer kindly provided by Bill the land lord.Unfortunately this bribery was not enough to influence the score - Lightnings 143 for 7: Winny Gate 77 all out. Well Done everyon- see events for next match.

Sponsored 2 Day Bike Ride
On 15 May 30 people undertook the Bike Ride from the outskirts of Bathampton to the outskirts of Pewsey, with an overnight stay at The Barge at Seend. The ride was in memory of Jacquie Hill who was cared for at the Hospice and organised by her family. A total of £4,495 was raised. Thank you.
