Family Support Team providing practical advice and bereavement support

The Family Support Team helps individuals and families with the emotional and practical issues that arise as a result of a serious illness.

These might include:

  • support with worries and anxieties about caring for someone who is ill, and for the future.
  • guidance with practical help around caring for someone at home.
  • support with benefits and other financial issues
  • emotional support for all adults and children in the family who would like it.
  • linking with other agencies e.g. housing, schools.

The Family Support Team also provides bereavement support including

  • one to one support
  • telephone support
  • group support
  • support for children
  • special days for bereaved children (Time Travellers)

The team consists of

  • Jane Daniel, senior social worker
  • Susan Daniell, senior social worker
  • Kirsty Bale, social worker
  • And a team of 13 bereavement support volunteers.
